Just wanna say I fucking love this blog. I remember you wrote an article kinda recently about how driving is like lifting, and when you cruise slow PR's and shit just come along the way. I've been trying to up my bench and mil. press by upping the numbers recently while slowing down the progress on my squat and dead by lowering the numbers a bit. Turns out my bench and mil. press are coming to a stall and now I'm hitting PR's in the squat and dead weekly, with a 20 lb. PR 405 squat today. If I woulda just fuckin listened to that article when I read it. SLL is the shit too. I actually can't thank you enough for everything you do Paul.

DeleteSo Paul, I've discovered I really suck at repping. Even a weight that I'm fast & furious with for 8 reps starts to feel like a ton after that. Tell me it gets better. I know I need to do this but man, a 20 rep set of squats sounds insane to me right now.

PC any suggestions for back spasms? I have a right side spasm in my mid back so bad I can't rotate left at all and only about 1/2 ROM rotating right. It's shut everything down as far as training so far.

ReplyDeleteToday I hit a clean PR! I had planned to work up to a moderate double then back off hitting some reps. I hit a weight I haven't touched in 2 years, and added some more with a lil somethin in the tank. I have been working on using "hip drive". The video you filmed with the fella from the Krav Maga & Fitness Center helped engrave this.

DeleteDelts and traps. I have never seen this movement before and I am trying to decide if it would be beneficial for me to incorporate into my training. I know nothing about it and tried googling it but didnt come up with a whole lot of useful information.... no tricks.
