Notes - Fuck yes, finally pulled the 725 from below the knee. Even better, no straps. Before when I pulled from below the knee I was generally at the gym, and they no likey chalk. So I'd wear straps, and I missed this the last time I tried it....with straps. No straps, and once it broke, shit felt fine.
Congrats Paul! That pull was sweet.
ReplyDeleteNice Paul awesome lift. Question since they don't allow chalk, have you tried "liquid grip"?
ReplyDeleteI did a while back, didn't care for it.
DeleteI did a search and didn't see any thing on Burpees.... How do you rate them Paul, as a conditioning exercise?
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmmm if you did a search and didn't find anything in over 3 years worth of articles, what might that tell you?
DeleteSo that's your secret to conditioning you've been keeping from us .....
DeleteTells me you don't think much of them, but they seem pretty tough and Ross Enamait recommends them...
ReplyDeleteI just don't do em. I feel like sprinting, bag work, and other stuff is just as good. I don't think there is any secrets out there to any of this stuff. Just consistency and hard work.
DeleteWhat are you eating? Congrats on the pr. Easy pull
ReplyDeleteEverybody is a comedian.
Deletepaul based off that pull, how much do you think u can deadlift now?
ReplyDeleteMy guess is 690 or so, to be conservative. 700 on a good day. Next week my midshin pull will tell a lot. When I pulled 650 off the floor my best mid shin was 635. If I can pull 675 from mid-shin, I know that I should be good for 690 or more.
DeleteGod I suck. I should easily be pulling 725 from the floor right NOW.
in time brotha in time
DeleteIs you 700lb projected pull from the floor with straps or without?
ReplyDeleteWithout. I never pull from the floor with straps. That's gayer than aids.
DeleteThe only thing I use straps for are shrugs, and if I have to lift at the fancy gym where they don't allow chalk.
DeletePaul, might try a product called "Eco chalk" by the climbing company metolius. Picked up a ball of it and a climber's chalk bag at a local outdoor gear shop and it seems to work just as well as the regular stuff and leaves no trace. Super convenient to toss in your gym bag as well.
ReplyDeleteLifting in a fancy gym is gayer than Jamie :>
ReplyDeleteThere's hot chics in said gym. So no.
