  1. Your press makes me look like a bitch, Paul. Good shit.

By the way, where did you pick up the Punisher shirt? It's sick.

  2. So far while using IF I've been getting to the gym early and training fasted and surprisingly my energy levels have been pretty high. I have been seeing my energy drop off later around 6 or 7 however so if you're training later in the day I could see this happening.

    1. Yes. On the weekends the workouts seem to be pretty damn good. My upperbody session mid week has been very sluggish. I tend to run out of steam very fast.

  3. Paul-
I had a legs today and I did some normal sets of squats, I have my lifting partner tape my last set so I can watch it later and see what things I need to improve on as far as form goes. But anywho today I did a few sets of normal squats ass to grass down and up, felt a little bit of knee pain in my "bad" knee. I say its bad because I've torn both meniscus and mcl a few times, but as I did sets of 3-5 pause squats there was no pain at all, it even felt better than just doing normal squats. Was wondering what you think about this, if it should be a concern or not?
    Thank you

Also, it happens sometimes if a girl is on top, and knows what she is doing.

  5. hey paul great vids man i have a few ?s

1.)are you taking bcaas like purplewrath/extend before your IF workouts or do you have your first meal before?

2.) in the last chaos and bang for your ears podcast you mentioned how DC training helped you get over a bodybuilding slump and you modified it into a powerlifting template, can you write out this exact template please?

3.) what exercises did you use for legs on DC because i just do squats on it, i hate leg pressing and the machine hack squats so i was wondering what other 2 exercises did you use for your DC and powerlifting DC template?

thank pauls, great vids man and the podcasts are awesome and hilarious

    1. 1 - During the mid week training session I have usually eaten twice before I train.

I'm covering all my DC stuff in the new training book. But I can tell you that I went against the grain and trained at home for a big part of it and did 1 legged squats as part of my rotation. And you can use front squats.

    3. Speed skater squats. 1 foot on a bench behind you, and the other on an elevated surface.

  6. I tried IF before and liked it but found it near impossible to keep up because my gf was not on the same eating plan/schedule as me and I was on a budget which put a lot of better quality foods out of reach. Anyways what I did find in the short time doing it was that if I trained fasted then although I started with a little less energy than I would have if I had eaten before training, my energy levels never dipped like the do if I have eaten before training.

  7. Paul, I'm about half-way through the UB/WCS rep strength program. We discussed building rep strength with rows instead of deadlifts, and that's what I've been doing with an unsuported T-Bar. They've taken off much faster than I anticipated; probably because I just never worked on rowing much before. I easily hit 20 reps on my first work-set yesterday, and now I've got a dilemma. Would you recommend upping the weight on my work-sets, or working towards 30 reps and beyond with the current weight? I know rows are a little different than some other movements as far as rep range, I just don't know if I'm going to start hitting diminishing returns when I get this high up. My goals with this are in line with the program as written, that is to say, to increase the ball-park limit of my rowing strength in a lower rep range. I appreciate any thoughts or advice you might have.

  8. Hey Paul, speaking of the book, do you have an idea of when you'll be finishing it? No rush of course, it's awesome that you're cramming so much quality info in for us, I'm just rife with anticipation. Keep up the good work.

    1. Actually it's getting close. I have to get some pics for some technique stuff, and finish a few chapters, go over the whole thing a few times. Sounds like a lot but once I'm done with it overall I will probably go back to it for just a few weeks.

If I had to guess a month to 6 weeks.

  9. I have a couple questions that you and jamie can use to stir up some discussion.

1)what do you guys do for a living? Just curious
2)If you guys were millionaires, how would you guys change your training? Since you guys wouldnt have to worry about things like work
3)How do you guys approach the mental part of training? Like how Matt Kroc says he flips on his aggression before a lifting.

    1. Not sure. Try it. I think the elbow path that close would be a problem.

  11. sorry but what do you mean about the elbow path being a problem.

  12. Hey paul where did you get those dumbbell handles? or did you make them? I've been meaning to get some longer ones but can't find some solid ones other than the ones from Ironmind

Also some questions to add to the Chaos and bang podcast:

What are your opinions on doing the goodmorning?
Why does Jamie hate kettlebell swings?

Also how do you prefer your girls? shaven...some bush...or all natural?

One last thing, why not suggest some bands or music you both listen to ( I know jamie has done this on his blog but its just a suggestion for the podcast)
