Training - Deadlift

Bodyweight - 239

4" block pulls -
135x5,5,5
225x,3,3
315x3,3
405x3
500x1
550x1
605x1
650x1 PR

650 is a PR at this block height so I figured what the fuck, I'll double it. But I've had a tremendously bad week, and gotten about 6 hours of sleep over the past 2 nights. I think on a good night the double is there.

Deadlifts - 550x3,3

Rehab Work for hip - 30 minutes

Notes - Stupid tired tonight. Mentally, emotionally, and physically drained. This has been a tough week. My mom is having heart surgery tomorrow and I have other things going on that have just drained me. I am satisfied to have pulled the PR on a week like this.

  2. 650 for 2 is there, shit happens.

Best of luck with your mom. If my mom was having heart surgery I know how stressed I would be.

Keep up the good fight man.

  9. Hey Paul, great post, your 650 DL is looking fantastic; it's inspiration to get myself to the next level (which is currently faaarr below yours LOL). I need to find something at the gym that's 4" tall and start with blocked deadlifts...fuckit, I'll just bring in my own blocks...

My thoughts and prayers are with you for your mom's surgery and recovery. I am a staunch believer in positive thinking; if you believe in good outcomes, you project that energy on others, and I'm sure that's what she'll need.

  10. Paul,

Stay positive and everything will turn out for the best.
Quick question though I normally deadlift with trap bar but I was wondering if since the legs are used more in the movement could this cause me to stall quicker on deadlift and squat?

    1. I can't really answer that. Work it in and use it as assistance. So don't smother the workout with too much work on it. Then see how you benefit.
