Happy 4th of July everyone

I hope everyone blows shit up and eats more hotdogs than Takeru Kobayashi.

Will do a light squat session today to continue the deload for the meet.  Maybe some light pressing.

  5. damn! well thanks for posting up all the info on this site. it's really hard to get info about RAW lifting these days on the web. everything seems to be about WSBB, and stuff like that. i have never competed but, have always wanted to ever since i started lifting.

  8. can anyone help me on squat depth? what i mean is, i don't think i ever really broke parallel, so I've been using a low box that's slightly below parallel and it feels like I'm weak in the bottom of the lift. half way up and to the top, I'm very strong. i use the box in a "touch and go" fashion but, the problem i see is that once i get used to the box how will i reach proper depth with out it? it seems like a bad habit to get into. is there a better way?

  9. Pause squats. Sit down, hamstrings on calves, and pause for 3. Start light and go from there.

  10. so, would I'd just do pause squats for like a 10 week cycle to get stronger at it? like i usually do squats off a box to a single, then i do 2 sets of 5 of pauses. or ditch the box and alternate free squats and pause squats from week to week?

  11. Just squat and pause squat. If you are having trouble hitting rock bottom, try putting a 5 pound plate under your heels and see if that helps. If so, do that for a while until the flexibility develops for full squats. If the 5 pound plate does help, I would def consider buying some Oly shoes.
