Training - Deadlift

Bodyweight - 259

Deads -
135 x 8
225 x 5
315 x 4
405 x 3
500 x 2

565 x 1
605 x 1
635 x 1
650 x 1 PR

Elevated Stiff Legs - 455 x 10

Shrugs - 585 x 10

Notes - Not a good one even with the PR.  650 was a grinder but I expected it to be.  I drank last night AND took my sleeping meds.  So I was pretty sluggish all morning, never felt like I got going.  I think this is the last heavy pull before the meet.

  1. Doesn't that make the PR even better, if you felt like crap going into it?

  2. Meh, I like a PR when I get it an own it, but a PR is a PR.

I am guessing something between 660 and 700 for the meet.

  4. Can I persuade you to talk about your thoughts on neckage? Sets and reps etc.

  5. Point is that you ground it out, despite feeling rough. Sometimes life isn't about classy execution, it's about getting shit done. Plus that's a pretty tough psychology you've got, PRing under those circumstances.

    You get the idea..

ps -- did you see the last episode of Game of Thrones yet? I still can't quite get my head around it!

  6. Ali - Yup I saw it. Great season! Obviously they ended it on big note to keep you interested. I can't wait for next season.

Paul - The thing I did for a long time was just do the plate raises lying on a bench. I generally did sets of 20 with two plates.

Carl - My cycle really are based around the templates I sell. I do deviate a little based on certain factors of particular workouts but what you see is what you get for the most part.

  9. Maybe better that I take some comments from some people who know even more than I do, to weigh in on what you could/should do for setting up your cycles.

I'll start working on it guys..........
