Well thanks for getting blogger working again you asshats. Sheesh.
Last night - Weight - 251
Hip and Ass Machine - 2 x 50
Calf Press - 2 x 20
Deadlifts - bar x 20
135 x 15
225 x 5
315 x 4
405 x 3
500 x 2
585 x 3
Stiff Legs on block - 455 x 10 PR
Shrugs - 405 x 8, 500 x 5, 585 x 8
Pulldowns - 2 sets of 20
Notes - I was tired, and not really feeling 100% but still hit a PR on stiff legs and the 585 triple was easy as well. I think a 700 pull is right around the corner. This would make me very happy as I have been a shitty deadlifter for so long. And a 700 pull is at least respectable.
I like how to you 700 is just 'respectable' :)
ReplyDeleteYeah 700 is respectable, and by that I mean around virtually any group of lifters, that's a respectable deadlift. I am friends with 800+ pullers so to me, 700 is just respectable. Remember perception is reality. I remember when I thought that 500 was ok, then 600, now it's 700. I'm sure when I pull 700 I'll say that 800 is only respectable.
ReplyDeleteNothing I ever accomplish is worth a shit. lol
Nice lifting Paul!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wes. Staying the course. Not being stupid.
ReplyDeletePaul I have a meet on July 23rd. Do you think you could help me pick some attempts and maybe help me taper my program up to the meet, closer to when that time comes? It's my first meet and I feel like I am kind of flying in the dark.
ReplyDeletePat - Give me some of your numbers. Esp recent ones.
ReplyDeleteOk. Dont laugh please.
ReplyDeleteI train with straight weight for sets across, the last set is for amrap. So its basically 3 sets of 5 like Starting Strength, but I rep the last set out for as much as I can.
So recent numbers are...
Bench: 200x7
Military: 130x10
Squat: 290x10
Dead: 350x9
ah shit that bench is close grip BTW.
ReplyDeleteWell I'd recommend something like -
ReplyDeletesquat - 310, 350, 380
bench - 185, 225, 250
deadlift - 385, 425, 445
That would be what I might suggest.
