Training - Week 2 / Phase 1 - Bench

10Jun10 - Bench

Bodyweight - 240

Decline Sit Ups - 1 x 30, 1 x 20
Shoulder dislocates - 2 x 15

Close Grip Bench - 135 x 20, 225 x 5, 315 x 1, 335 x 1, 365 x 1

Incline Press - 225 x 15 x 12 x 5

Tit Machine - 1 drop set of 10/8

Notes - Good session.  365 was super light and flew up.  Right elbow is already fussing however so some ice will be in store.  Will bench for singles again in two weeks.

  2. 425 with a pause. I've benched 435 but that was a long time ago and with a wide grip. I only do close grips now to save my shoulders.

  3. How close is your close-grip? Just curious. I go pinkie or ring-finger on the ring, but I have relatively long arms and a wide shoulder structure, so any closer than that feels awkward.

  4. I go with my index finger touching the smooth. So it's pretty close. Although I am going to experiment with moving it out a couple of inches. It would still be considered close grip by any standard. It might be a smidge to close right now actually.
